Harare, Zimbabwe – Of all the tragedies in African politics there is none so tangible and tragic as the near collapse of Zimbabwe. With near record high inflation (516 quintillion per cent), crushing poverty, endemic racism, and social and political turmoil the virtual failed state has come to be the example of what damage can be caused by tyranny and lack of government accountability. Things have begun to change in the country though and new reforms and new attitudes both inside and outside the government plot to return the once great nation to prosperity. Scrape TV

Atlanta, GA – In recent years the battles between the cable news networks has not been kind to the granddaddy of them all. With only a handful of ratings spikes during major events, CNN has routinely lagged behind newcomers Fox News and MSNBC and in recent months has even fallen behind sibling station Headline News. Founded in 1980, CNN created the 24 hour cable news format but as rivals move towards extreme journalism the network has found itself in the unenviable position of falling further and further behind its offspring. Washington, DC – News comes and goes in cycles. Since the start of regular news reporting outlets have struggled with those cycles; struggling to cobble together a report in slow times, totally overwhelmed in busy times. As hectic as those busy times can be most people throughout the news industry embrace those times, not only to relieve the mundane nature of soft news, but also to reap the benefits of increased readership and advertising revenue. Mumbai, India – With the terrorist attacks in Mumbai now ended, Indian officials are being left with the aftermath. With nearly 200 people dead, hundreds more injured, and a nation on the edge, the Indian government is being charged with one of the most difficult tasks of recent years. No such problems though burden news services and websites that have been covering the attacks, all of whom have enjoyed a significant uptick in traffic, a major relief to some struggling to make ends meet in the ever worsening economy. Atlanta, GA – As the Presidential campaign enters its final weeks partisanship is undoubtedly on the rise. With polls riding a rollercoaster and the rhetoric between the two campaigns becoming more and more fierce, it appears that there is little the two sides are able to agree on, at least politically. With the final Presidential debate now finished there seems to be little that Republican and Democratic voters can agree upon, with one exception.. Scrape TV

Cupertino, CA – Steve Jobs is reportedly resting comfortably at his home two days after multiple news organizations reported that the Apple CEO had been rushed to hospital after suffering a major heart attack. The false reports caused Apple’s stock price to drop precipitously, most of which it regained after trading, minimizing the possibility of an actual heart attack for the 53 year old jobs. Scrape TV
